County Road 305 Closed to Through Traffic

December 29, 2009 Bunnell Fl. -- County Road 305 is closed to through traffic for approximately six months while a new bridge is constructed over Little Haw Creek about two miles East of the Volusia County Line.

The roadway was closed to through traffic as construction began on January 4 at the site of the bridge. The road is expected to be closed until July. Motorists are advised to take alternate routes on S.R. 11 and S.R. 100 through Bunnell, to detour around the closure.

This is the second bridge to be reconstructed and widened in an ongoing project by Flagler County to replace all seven bridges on 305 in Flagler County and resurface and widen the roadway. County officials are addressing safety concerns for 305, the roadway is only 18 feet wide in some places, and made the widening project one of its top priorities. Once the Little Haw Creek Bridge is completed, construction is expected to begin on another bridge on County Road 305 approximately six miles north of the Little Haw Creek Bridge.
