Don Petito
Fire Chief

Don Petito joined the Flagler County Fire Rescue Department in 2004 as the Fire Chief. Chief Petito comes to us with over twenty years of experience in the Fire Rescue Service. Prior to his employment with Flagler County he served as the Fire Chief for the City of Hood River, Oregon from August 2002 - March 2004. His career began in South Florida with the City of Coral Springs where he was promoted through the ranks, ending as a Battalion Chief prior to moving to Oregon.



Chief Petito is charged with the day to day operations of all aspects of Fire Rescue. This includes planning, organizing and implementing fire prevention, inspection, suppression and emergency medical services to prevent or minimize the loss of life and property by fire and emergency medical conditions.



Chief Petito holds a Bachelor's Degree in fire administration and has been certified as a Professional Emergency Manager by the Florida Emergency Preparedness Association. Chief Petito is also a State of Florida Firefighter 2, certified fire instructor, state certified paramedic, and a fire inspector.
