In June of 2005, Flagler County Fire Rescue entered into an agreement with the Florida State Fire Marshals Office to provide technical rescue services regionally.
The Florida State Fire Marshals Office approved 53 teams statewide to take part in this program in which the State provides the training and the equipment at no cost to the County and the participant provides the manpower. The State allocates approximately $10, 000 per team to update training each year. The team is able to perform specialty rescues involving:
Confined space rescue
Trench collapse rescues
Building collapse rescue
Vehicle and machinery rescue
High angle and rope rescue
The team has the equipment and the training to provide each of the listed type of specialty rescue anywhere in the state.
Flagler County Fire Rescue entered into an agreement with Yamaha to lease a personal watercraft in order to provide water rescue services. The agreement is part of a program sponsored by Yamaha to provide the craft at no cost for rescue services.
